What is the Inpatient Admission process if I have Inpatient cover under Bliss GVS Healthcare ?

Patient reports to the reception of the hospital with Bliss GVS referral letter-duly signed and stamped. Front desk executive enquires about the patient's problem and captures the referral letter. Reception office refers the patient to the concerned department/doctor. Patient reports there, and concerned doctor investigates the patient's case history. As required, patient is advised for admission in the hospital. In case of admission, the patient is given the admission date and admission form is filled for further formalities. Meanwhile hospital administration gets in touch with Bliss GVS Claims team to complete mandatory (Pre-authorization and LOU) formalities. Except for emergency cases, admission to the hospital is done by appointment. This will be recommended by a Bliss GVS Healthcare specialist only during the patient's outpatient consultation.


I was admitted on an emergency basis in a hospital without the knowledge of Bliss GVS Healthcare (i am covered by them for inpatient). Will I be reimbursed ?

Any emergency admission is required to be brought to the attention of Bliss GVS Claims department team within 12 hours of the emergency admission via Bliss GVS emergency line for possibility of a reimbursement by Bliss GVS Healthcare. Such a claim will only be reimbursed once medical and claims audit team confirms the authenticity of case emergency. Any notification not done directly to Bliss GVS Healthcare team will not be reimbursed.


What should I expect from hospital desk, when i go there with Bliss GVS Healthcare’s referral letter for my scheduled admission ?

Before admission, the patient is counseled by the front desk executive regarding the treatment package and exclusions which include:

  • Estimated bill size
  • Average length of stay
  • Various modes of payment accepted
  • Documents to bring on day of admission

What is procedure followed, after i am through with the hospital admission desk? What should i expect once i am in the ward ?

During admission-When the patient arrives at the ward, the ward staff will orientate the patient to the ward and the facilities available. Patient will then be clerked by the ward doctor - this involves taking a detailed medical history and ordering of tests if necessary. Bliss GVS medic/representative will visit you regularly to monitor your recovery process and our claims department works 24/7 to remain completely updated on bills and any assistance which you/your admitting hospital may require. During the patient's stay in the hospital, he/she will be attended by a team of doctors comprising of medical specialists, assisted by medical officers and house officers. Every care is taken in respect of patient care, treatment, meals, dress and health recovery. This info is forwarded by our service providers hospitals to us on a daily basis. The daily routine in the ward includes activities such as ward rounds by doctors, medication, meals, visiting hours and bedtime. However, this routine may vary as laboratory tests, x-ray, treatment and other procedures will take place when required.

What do i do to benefit the most out of my hospital stay ?

The safety and wellbeing of our patient is our utmost importance to us. We advise our patients to remain within the hospital premises until they are discharged by the concerned doctor. A discharge summary certificate will be given to the patient before leaving the ward. Post admission care-Before leaving the ward, patient is handed over with detailed discharge summary, which includes doctor's advice on their further follow-up treatment, daily routine diet, and medical prescription. Patient should present himself/herself at Bliss GVS nearby facility with this discharge summary for subsequent management. The doctors may give the patient an appointment for follow-up at the Specialist Outpatient Clinic. This consultant review is organized by Bliss GVS Healthcare as the patient presents at Bliss GVS Healthcare facility with the essential documentation.
